Ive a few(and i mean a few, like 10Big%20smile) tunes that have a silent part in them towards the end of the song. When the silence happens the gain creeps up and whammo the song comes back in at high volume then the gain reduces back to where it originaly was. Could the gain have some sort of set level after say 60% of the tune? Maybe i should be more hands on i guess. Just a thought.

Hi,

This only happens the first time the song is played in session (this means played almost entirely without stopping or positioning it) as Deejaysystem learns the best gain value for the song.

The next time the same song is loaded Deejaysystem will set the Gain to the optimal value from the beginning, and will keep the Gain fixed during the entire song.

Ok, thanks Edy. I dont think i explained that exactly how i meant it. Ive taken a closer look and the gain dial doesnt actualy move when this happens, but the sound really gets loud after these silences. Almost like a wound up compressor. This may not be a deejaysystem error, but im at a loss now as to what is causing it. I dont run any other processors on my pc at all, but this happens only when files are played through deejaysystem. Any thoughts? Andy.

If you are playing videos then the audio could be being normalized by the FFDSHOW audio codec. If you have this installed (K-Lite Codec Pack Deejaysystem Edition in Performance mode) then the audio normalizer is enabled by default. You can change the settings here:

Start > All Programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > ffdshow > Audio Decoder Configuration
